CHAPTER 14. TRAFFICCHAPTER 14. TRAFFIC\Article 5. Truck and Trailer Routes

Pursuant to the authority vested in the city pursuant to K.S.A. 8-1912(c), it shall be unlawful to operate any vehicle and/or trailer weighing over 12,000 pounds on the streets or alleys of the city. Provided, however, that such prohibition shall not apply to:

(a)   Delivery vehicles making deliveries to residential areas;

(b)   Vehicles and/or trailers on Santa Fe Road to Main Street;

(c)   Vehicles and/or trailers traveling on Main Street to Highway K31;

(d)   Vehicles and/or trailers traveling on Harveyville Road within the city limits.

Truck routes will be clearly marked with appropriate signs by the city.

If any person violates any provision of this article, the public officer or his or her designee may file a complaint in the municipal court of the city against such person and upon conviction of any violation of the provisions of this article such person shall be fined an amount not to exceed $500 per offense.
